FAQ

Kickball Tournament – FAQ & Team Guidelines

Team Rosters and Substitutions

Q: How many players can be on a game roster?

A: We limit participation to 15 players per game.

Q: Can players be substituted between games or days?

A: Yes! You can substitute players freely between games, days, and time slots.

Example: If John plays on Saturday at 9am but can’t play Sunday at 9am, Jill can fill in — even if she didn’t play Saturday.

Q: Why do you allow flexible rosters?

A: This system helps business teams and shift workers (including SDA members) who operate on 7-day work schedules. It keeps everyone included and schedules flexible.

Q: Can we add family members or people not listed on our roster at the last minute?

A: Yes, last-minute subs are allowed.

All we ask is that you notify tournament officials before the game so that new players can sign the waiver.

Team Requirements

Q: What’s the minimum number of players to start a game?

A: Teams can play with a minimum of 6 players if needed.

Q: What happens if we play short-handed?

A: You’ll have fewer defensive options, but you can still compete — and sometimes even steal a win with luck, grit, and determination!

Game Format

Q: How long are games?

A:

  • Pool Play: 3 innings or 25-minute cap.

  • Playoffs: 6 innings or 45-minute cap.

  • Championship Game: 7 innings or 90-minute limit.

Q: What days are pool play and playoffs?

A:

  • Saturday: Pool Play (starting with kids’ games at 12:00 PM)

  • Sunday: Playoffs (starting at 10:00 AM)

  • However, depending on how quickly games move, we may extend pool play into Sunday or start playoffs late Saturday — with team consent.

  • Scheduling & Registration

Q: How do we get our game times?

A: Once you send in your roster and preferred time slots, we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule.

Q: Can we include “TBA” players on our roster?

A: Yes. If you haven’t finalized your lineup, just mark “TBA” for now and inform us of the actual players before the games so we can get them signed in and covered by waivers.

Q: When does registration close?

A: Registration closes on the 15th.

Pool play and playoff schedules will be released the next day.

Game Day Details

Q: What time do games start?

A:

  • Saturday: Kids’ teams begin at 12:00 PM.

  • Adults: Scheduled throughout the afternoon, based on team availability and roster submissions.

  • Sunday: Games begin at 10:00 AM and end by 6:00 PM.

Q: How many fields are being used?

  • Teams will alternate between fields to ensure equal play time.
