Rotary Club of Guam's Chief Kepuha Golf Tournament set for May 14th
Yona, GU - The Rotary Club of Guam’s inaugural Chief Kepuha Golf Tournament is set for Saturday, May 14 at the Country Club of the Pacific in Yona. This first-of-its-kind tournament features three different play methods that allow golfers of all skill levels to participate, according to tournament co-chairman Kaz Endo.
"Professional and low-handicap players can play via our stroke play category, while good golfers who want to have a fun, but competitive, game can enter our best-ball scramble play category,” explained Endo. “And finally, novice golfers who want to have a fun, easy and relaxing time with friends can join our a just-for-fun, mixed four match play format.”
Golfers can pre-register online at voltsportstour.com, or in person at DOCOMO Pacific in Tamuning, Country Club of the Pacific or the Pacific Star Hotel in Tumon. Registration will also be available at Country Club of the Pacific on event day.
Show time is at 10 a.m. with the shotgun start at noon, and is limited to the first 120 players to register. Entry fees are $200 per player for single stroke players (gross score), $150 per player for doubles best-ball scramble (net score Callaway) and $125 per player for fun-foursome match play (net holes won). Players can save $100 when registering as a group of four. If requested, event organizers can also set up solo golfers with additional team members.
Free food and beverages will be provided throughout the day, and the registration fee also includes the post-tournament awards banquet. Golfers can also expect great prizes, including a $750 cash prize for the best stroke player, and premium prize packages will be awarded to the top five finishers in each category.
“This tournament will mark our largest fundraising effort for 2016, with a goal to raise at least $25,000 to fund Rotary Club of Guam community projects,” said Endo. “Whether you’re looking for a competitive round, or just want to grab some friends and have a laid-back day on the course, we invite all golfers to join us for some tasty barbecue, ice-cold drinks and great fellowship.”
